An insistence on newbuildings for new LNG projects could exacerbate current shipping problems and extend vessel overhangs into 2025, Poten & Partners head of LNG shipping analytics Jefferson Clarke said.
Speaking in an executive round table webinar hosted by Poten global head of business intelligence Jason Feer, Clarke said that counter to this if LNG growth comes from existing projects or ones that not looking at newbuildings that would be a positive for market as it could increase ship utilisation.
