Petronas said it will not go ahead with its Pacific Northwest LNG project in Canada's British Columbia province.
The Malaysian oil and gas company issued a statement that the project "will not proceed as previously planned."
The company had pledged as far back as 2015 that it was going ahead with the $27bn project, which would have pumped out 19 million tonnes of LNG annually.
