Pakistan is bolstering its presence in the LNG market with plans to issue two international tenders for 750,000 tonnes of LNG per year, each in the coming month.
Adnan Gilani, head of Pakistan LNG, told Reuters firms from Australia, Malaysia, Russia, Qatar, the US and Azerbaijan were interested in the two tenders.
The development comes hot on the heels of BW LNG signing a 15-year agreement with Pakistan GasPort on the company’s second uncommitted FSRU, the 170,000-cbm BW Integrity, as TradeWinds was first to report late last month.
