Shipowners have submitted offers to European electricity supplier Energias de Portugal (EDP) for a time charter of a lone LNG carrier.
Details have yet to emerge as to the names and number of parties, but industry sources working closely with the project said no selection is likely to be made until early in the new year.
EDP emerged with its first requirement for LNG tonnage to take on period hire in April.
