Just over 90 LNG newbuildings were ordered in 2024, marking another large haul as the fleet renews and expands in different areas, but strong prices, far-out delivery dates and market uncertainties have already slowed the volume of fresh business.
The contracts have boosted the total LNG orderbook to about 326 vessels, or almost 52% of the global fleet.
