Russian gas producer Novatek has started the ball rolling on an order for a new series of 15 LNG carriers (LNGCs).
Its CEO Leonid Mikhelson told reporters that it had submitted a preliminary request for the ice-class vessels' construction to the new Russian Zvezda yard, according to the Prime news agency.
The ships will service the planned Arctic LNG-2 development, he added.
