Novatek is considering installing LNG ship-to-ship equipment on the Arc7 ice-breaking LNG carriers for its Yamal LNG project to maximise the use of the specialised vessels along the Northern Sea Route (NSR).
Industry sources said the Russian energy company's idea is to use the kit to transship cargoes near Murmansk for westbound shipments during winter when the NSR cannot be used.
