New Fortress Energy (NFE) has bought two jack-up rigs and is shipping them to a US yard for conversion into its first two $500m modular floating LNG production units under its "Fast LNG" solution.
Chairman and chief executive Wes Edens said that with the help of Golar LNG, US-listed NFE has purchased rigs that originally cost $500m for $30m each and will sit modular liquefaction units on top of these.
