Mitsui E&S Group has started test operations of its large-bore, low-speed ammonia dual-fuel engine.
The Japanese engine manufacturer, which builds under licence for designer MAN Energy Solutions, said it began testing the MITSUI-MAN B&W 7S60ME-C10.5-LGIA-HPSCR on Monday at its Tamano factory.
Mitsui E&S said this is the world’s first test run with an ammonia fuel on a large-bore, low-speed, two-stroke commercial engine.
