MISC Berhad has sold two LNG carriers to Japanese shipowner Nissen Kaiun in a deal that will see the Malaysian shipping giant time-charter them back for an unspecified period.
MISC president and group chief executive Captain Rajalingam Subramaniam said in a media statement that the transaction, the first sale-and-leaseback deal done by the company in the LNG sector, enhances its financial flexibility and its ability to maximise returns from its gas shipping portfolio.
