Three midsize gas carriers have won six months to a year of additional cover despite softening time charter rates in the sector.
Shell has extended the charter of the 35,000-cbm Essex (built 2009) for another six months with an option for six more months, according to shipbrokers.
The rate is believed to be $420,000 per month. For the last year, the Anglo-Dutch energy major has been paying $450,000 per month for the vessel.
