Malta gets first LNG cargo

A Shell-controlled LNG carrier has shipped in the initial cargo to Malta’s new import terminal.

The 136,967-cbm Galea (built 2002) arrived at the facility’s recently installed floating storage unit (FSU) Armada LNG Mediterrana on 11 January, according to minister within the Office of the Prime Minister of Malta Konrad Mizzi.

Earlier reports had tipped a GasLog vessel to ship in the cargo.
