LNG is poised to lead the global natural gas trade, with volumes projected to double to 800m tonnes by 2050, according to the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF).
In its 9th Global Gas Outlook 2050, the GECF said LNG will account for 63% of traded gas by mid-century.
