Several LNG shipowers are in line to confirm optional shipyard berths for LNG newbuildings as a high-scoring year for gas tonnage draws to a close.
Brokers have named John Angelicoussis-owned Maran Gas Maritime as being among those likely to notch up another order in its long-standing total at the company’s favoured shipyard of DSME.
Maran currently has 10 LNG carrier newbuildings on order plus one floating storage and regasification unit, giving the Greek shipowner a 38-ship fleet.
