LNG was selected as the fuel of choice for almost all the alternative-fuelled newbuildings ordered in February, according to classification society DNV.
In its monthly round-up, DNV said 34 new orders for alternative-fuelled vessels were contracted last month with 33 of these being for LNG dual-fuelled vessels.
The figures show there are now 1,320 LNG-fuelled vessels either on order or in operation.
