LNG carrier rates slide backwards as market seeks to make sense of ‘bewildering’ world

Spot charter rates for LNG carriers are sinking back amid the turmoil in global markets over the past few days as companies struggle to understand how trades might play out.

Levels for two-stroke vessels have dropped to between $22,000 and $25,000 per day after climbing back from first-quarter lows of less than $10,000 per day to touch $30,000 per day in March.
