Charter rates for LNG carriers have softened from the sky-high levels reported in early January, but players remain upbeat on second-quarter and winter 2021 prospects.
Brokers and owners peg spot rates for a tri-fuel diesel-electric LNG carrier trading out of the Atlantic at around the $140,000-per-day mark — a drop of almost 50% from last week — with vessels in Asia closer to $110,000 per day.
