Japan’s K Line is poised to win the job of managing two midsize LNG carrier newbuildings contracted in China this month by Malaysia’s Petronas.
Sources close to the vessels said K Line has been selected ahead of other Japanese owners competing for the business.
Brokers have suggested the winning external shipowner partner on the vessels may acquire a 30% stake in the ships.
