JMU’s first SPB LNG carrier poised for late delivery

An LNG carrier at Japan Marine United that is contracted for charter to Tokyo Gas will deliver late as the yard battles with the revival of a sloshing-proof containment system design.

Tokyo LNG Tanker, the shipping arm of Tokyo Gas, and MOL's recently named 165,000-cbm newbuilding Energy Liberty is the first in more than 20 years to be fitted with the self-supporting prismatic type B (SPB) cargo-containment system.
