Japanese partners in Central LNG have kicked off a new LNG bunkering business by using their specialised newbuilding to supply a car carrier in a first ship-to-ship operation for the country.
Shipowners K Line and NYK Line, along with trader JERA and carmaker Toyota Tsusho, which operate together as Central LNG, said their co-owned 3,500-cbm LNG bunker vessel newbuilding Kaguya fuelled the under-construction, pure car and truck carrier Sakura Leader on 20 October.
