Hoegh LNG signed a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) deal with a project aiming to supply LNG to Ghana.
The Tema LNG import terminal, sponsored by Quantum Power and Ghana National Petroleum, will be located close to Accra.
The contract is for a period of 20 years with a five year extension option for charterer and is expected to generate an average annual earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) of around $36m, Hoegh said.
The contract is still subject obtaining necessary governmental approvals, financial close and both parties' board approval.
Construction is slated to begin mid 2017, with the FSRU set for delivery in the following six to twelve months.
