French membrane-type designer GTT is expanding its reach by moving into the LPG carrier market with a new type of cargo-containment system designed to give shipowners more carrying capacity and save time on voyages.
GTT claims the use of its membrane advanced reliable system (Mars) for a 84,000-cbm very large gas carrier (VLGC) could offer an additional 2,000-cbm of capacity by replacing the weight of steel with cargo volume.
