Shipping players are on manoeuvres ahead of the International Maritime Organization’s April MEPC 83 meeting, and there appears to be some heavyweight backstage lobbying.
All eyes are trained on the decision on carbon pricing and the emissions reduction measure, the Greenhouse Gas Fuel Standard (GFS).
It is designed to ensure a gradual reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from shipping until they are phased out in 2050.
