Floating storage and regasification units serving Germany will be sublet by their government charterer once new land-based LNG terminals come onstream in the next two to three years.
Alexander Lucke, deputy director-general for energy security and gas markets at Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, said three land-based LNG import terminals are due to begin operations from 2027.
