Galp Energy has signed up for 1mt per annum (mtpa) of LNG from the US-based Venture Global Calcasieu Pass LNG export facility.
The Portguese energy company has agreed a 20-year sales and purchase Agreement (SPA) for the LNG with exports expected to start in 2022.
Galp said the agreement secures "balanced and competitive sourcing" for its international natural gas activities.
