First KC-1 small-scale shuttle LNG carrier goes into service

South Korean containment system designer KC LNG Tech has delivered its first small-scale LNG carrier fitted out with its home-grown KC-1 cargo containment system to domestic shipowner Korea Line.

Speaking to TradeWinds at the Gastech exhibition in Houston, KC LNG Tech chief executive Munkeun Ha said the 7,500-cbm newbuilding — SM Jeju LNG 1 — was handed over by Samsung Heavy Industries on 18 September.
