US energy major ExxonMobil is limbering up to declare on the next swathe of LNG carrier newbuilding berths, which it has previously reserved in South Korea.
Those following the project said ExxonMobil, working through its shipping arm SeaRiver Maritime, is expected to ink deals on at least two and possibly up to six LNG carriers at Samsung Heavy Industries.
The major reserved a swathe of 14 LNG carrier newbuilding berths at SHI in 2020 and has so far signed up shipowners to charter deals on six of them, theoretically leaving eight remaining.
