German shipowner Hartmann Reederei named the first of its innovatively designed liquefied ethylene carriers (LEG) at Teesside in the UK today.
The Chinese-built, 36,000-cbm GasChem Beluga (built 2016) was on display for the first time at a ceremony hosted by Hartmann as the vessel shipped its second cargo of US-produced ethane from Houston into petrochemical company Saudi Basic Industries Corp’s (Sabic) recently converted cracker at Wilton on Teesside.
