The US Coast Guard’s most recent overview of port detentions includes the findings of an inspection involving the 6,000-cbm Virgen Maria B(ex- Sapphire Star, built 1991).

According to the report the vessel was cited by authorities in Houston, Texas for infractions related to its oily water separator (OWS), oil record book (ORB) and other deficiencies.

The USCG noted a port state control team witnessed the “removal of overboard piping” adjacent to it’s overboard discharge valve and “discovered oil residues inside”.
