Cosco Shipping Energy Transportation (CSET) has turned to Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co (DSIC) for a series of LNG carrier newbuildings.
The Chinese shipping giant has struck a deal with the state-owned shipyard to build three 175,000-cbm vessel worth around $700m in total, or about $233.3m each.
CSET said the LNG carriers were ordered through three separate Hong Kong-registered special purpose vehicles.
