An arm of Chinese shipping giant Cosco is poised to place an order for six LNG carrier newbuildings at Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) that are backed by charters with domestic energy company China Petroleum & Chemical Corp (Sinopec).
The deal, which is understood to cover 2026 delivery positions, is expected to include several optional slots.
