CSSC (Hong Kong) Shipping Leasing has contracted two 178,000-cbm LNG carrier newbuildings at China’s Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) on a speculative basis.
Newbuilding sources said the leasing arm of China State Shipbuilding Corp is in talks with potential charterers but added that this marks the first time an LNG order has been placed in China for a full-size vessel without any firm employment to back it.
