Russia produced 27 million tonnes of LNG in 2018, according to Rosneft executive Otabek Karimov.
The vice president for commerce and logistics told IP Week in London that the global market reached 320 million tonnes per annum last year — a 10% increase on 2017. Australia, the US and Russia accounted for 30 mtpa of the increase.
Japan was the top buyer, taking 84 mtpa in 2018, most of it from Australia, Malaysia and Qatar.
