US producer Cheniere Energy is being named as the mystery charterer behind at least one of TMS Cardiff Gas’ recently contracted LNG carrier newbuildings.
LNG charter market sources say Cheniere has fixed one of the Greek shipowner's new vessels for a period of up to seven years.
They indicate the deal is similar to the one Cardiff penned with energy major Total, where the owner was selected to supply an XDF LNG newbuilding against a seven-year charter with the major, with an option on a second ship.
