Carnival Corp's cruiseship newbuilding AIDAnova has been supplied with LNG as bunkers while starting its first operations with a maiden call at the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Cruise Terminal in the Canary Islands.
The 183,000-gt vessel, from Carnival's AIDA Cruises brand, Germany's leading cruise line, was bunkered by Shell's 6,500-cbm LNG bunker vessel Cardissa (built 2017).
This is the first cruiseship Shell has fuelled with LNG under a supply agreement Shell signed with Carnival in October 2016.
