The two 173,400-cbm ships, to be built at DSME, will serve the Freeport LNG project in Texas, a statement said.

“K-LNG is pleased to further develop their relationship with the BP group in the energy transportation sector and also to display its contribution to meet the increasing global demand for LNG transportation services,” the Japanese owner said.

Delivery of the ships is slated for 2018, with K-Line set to manage the duo.
