BP has gone out to shipowners seeking LNG carriers to take on charter hire for up to seven years.
Consultants said the energy major has asked for offers on vessels to charter-in for a firm three years, with options to extend the hire by a pair of optional periods of two years.
BP is said to be considering LNG ships that are available from delivery dates between 2019 and 2021.
