Russia’s Novatek is moving ahead with the tank storage element of its planned liquefaction project Arctic LNG-2.
Industry sources said the company has awarded a front-end engineering and design (FEED) job for up to six tanks for a gravity-based system (GBS) to France’s GTT.
They indicate that each membrane-type tank will be of around 230,000 cbm. The intention is to build three concrete caissons that will be anchored to the seabed, each of which will house two tanks, giving the project over 600,000 cbm of LNG storage capacity.
