Two dry-bulk stalwarts and a newcomer in the tanker sector have crashed the top-10 rankings for corporate-governance excellence according to new data released by investment bank Wells Fargo.

Greece’s Star Bulk Carriers, Connecticut’s Eagle Bulk Shipping and New York-based International Seaways are the newly elite in the semi-annual corporate governance “scorecard” released by equity analyst Michael Webber.

Texas-based Kirby once again topped Webber’s governance list, which argues “we believe there is no longer a place in the public shipping markets for companies that do not prioritise strong corporate governance and capital stewardship.”
