A US judge has issued an order halting actions by creditors against Toisa, the shipowner controlled by Greece's Gregory Callimanopulos.
The order signed by US Bankruptcy Judge Shelley Chapman in New York shields 23 vessels owned directly by the company as well as another 23 ships owned by other affiliates controlled by Toisa and Callimanopulos.
As TradeWinds reported Sunday, Toisa and 23 affiliates filed for bankruptcy protection.
