The Steamship Mutual protection and indemnity club has been promoted to the 'A' team by Standard & Poor’s.
The club’s rating was lifted from BBB+ to A- reflecting the strengthening finances of the mutual.
The club said the S&P upgrade with a stable outlook reflected an extremely strong capital adequacy supported by conservative reserving, a track record of good underwriting performance, and a strong competitive position.
