Greek bulker owner Star Bulk Carriers will reduce its board to nine directors after Roger Schmitz quit.
The Nasdaq-listed owner said it will not fill the vacant seat for the time being.
Schmitz wanted to pursue other opportunities, the shipping company added.
He joined the board in 2013.
Schmitz is a partner at Smith Cove Capital Management, where he focuses on investment opportunities across credit and equity markets.
