Singapore shipping’s next generation of senior executives has been given a helping hand to the tune of SGD 2m ($1.5m) in maritime scholarships.
The funds have been awarded under the Maritime Outreach Network (MaritimeONE) Scholarships and Tripartite Maritime Scholarship (TMSS).
The program is part of the local maritime industry’s efforts to groom the next generation of maritime manpower.
Some 53 students received the funds which are contributed by the Singapore government, maritime businesses and local seafarer unions.
