India's shipping ministry has come out in opposition to a proposed disposal of the state's shares in Shipping Corp of India (SCI).
Indian media reported that it and other ministries are against its privatisation, as well as the disposal of stock in ports.
Last month it was reported that the state-appointed National Institution for Transforming India has proposed offloading a 26% holding in the shipowner.
