Men are paid significantly more than their female colleagues in maritime companies in the UK, a new study has revealed.
A survey of members of the Maritime HR Association has revealed the difference between the average (mean) hourly rate of pay between men and women was 46.4% in 2017, up from 30.1% last year.
The survey published today highlights the gender pay gap ahead of new legislation that comes into force from April 2018, which demands all UK companies with 250 or more staff publicly report the difference between what they pay their male and female employees.
