After enjoying record-low financing costs, shipping companies may have to offer higher coupons when issuing bonds going forward.

In a new report, Norway’s largest bank, DNB Markets, said bond spreads have most likely bottomed out in the Nordic high-yield market.

“Spreads are likely to widen slightly, but could see a more pronounced change in the event of a global recession,” DNB credit strategist Ole A Kjennerud said.
