Seaspan has financed a newbuilding containership in a sale-and-leaseback deal.
The New York-listed containership owner will receive $144m in gross proceeds from the sale of the 14,000-teu YM Width.
Seaspan will charter the vessel for 12 years and will have options to buy it back after 9.5 years.
"The lease financing arrangement provides financing at market rates," the company said, without disclosing the charterback rate.
