At the TradeWinds Shipowners Forum in Athens Rodgers argued that Chapter 11, which protects debtors’ assets from creditors while they attempt to cure crippling financial maladies, has given some of the Belgian tanker owner’s rivals an unfair advantage.
“Chapter 11 was a valuable thing for the American system to protect major employers in the US and the wellbeing of the US economy,” the executive said.
