Most readers who participated in a TradeWinds poll found subsidies to shipping companies and yards are a justified part of the business.
The poll came after TradeWinds' Terry Macalister wrote in his weekly Wavelength column that South Korea's plan to work with the private sector to build some 140 LNG-powered ships is laudable.
