Another public company came off the board this week when New York-listed Jones Act player Overseas Shipholding Group was acquired by its largest shareholder, family-owned Saltchuk Resources.
The specific transaction was entirely unsurprising in that Saltchuk had been publicly pursuing OSG since January, and it was not even its first attempt: Saltchuk tried before in the summer of 2021 in a far weaker US-flag market.
